Welcome to our Language Centre (in Czech: Centrum jazykového vzdělávání FF UP), which is situated in a historical building at the oldest Moravian university. An “old school” doesn't always mean old-school: our engaging teachers use modern methods and high-quality resources to help you reach your language goals.

We offer multi-level courses across 9 modern languages and you have a special opportunity to attend one or even more of them for free, together for ECTS credits. In this case you must register in STAG (Palacký University information system, see: https://stag.upol.cz/portal/studium/index.html?pc_lang=en). Would you like to learn Czech? That's a great idea! At our Language Centre (CJV) you can also attend Czech courses, which will definitely be helpful for your stay in the Czech Republic. For Czech language lovers we also organise a language preparation course for continuing studies in Czech. During the intensive “Foundation Year” you should get to level B2, which is necessary to enter a study program in Czech (for more information please contact: czechff@upol.cz). With a good knowledge of Czech you can reap only benefits – actually all study programs at Czech state universities conducted in Czech are tuition-free.
